Abstract

In 1954, an Apostolic Visitation, carried out by the Dominican, Raimondo Spiazzi, took place in the Ambrosian seminaries. This largely un-noteworthy episode’s interpretation has in the past been subject to suspicions and recip-rocal misunderstandings. Drawing for the first time on the documentation preserved by the Congregation for Catholic Education, this article presents the confidential report of the Visitor, concentrating itself in particular on the verdicts regarding the Theological Faculty of Venegono.
