The Theology of Reparation in the Breviloquium of Bonaventure
Abstract
As a soteriological term, reparation configures itself in a singular manner. Looking from the point of view of dogmatic theology and spiritual practice, the term presents itself as a way of expressing the mystery of the redemption of Christ and of involving mankind in its participation. Recognising the contribution of Bonaventure to the theological reflection, we have chosen to offer a theological synthesis of this concept starting from the Breviloquium. The investigation is articulated according to three ways in which the reparative action of Christ manifests itself: satisfaction, reconciliation and remedy.
