Abstract

How to help new priests to fit into a society in rapid change? To provide an answer to this problem, after World War II, cardinal Schuster created the Istituto Sacerdotale Maria Immacolata. Based on archival documents, this study aims to present the events that marked the beginnings of an institution still poorly known, the history of which allows to learn about new aspects concerning priesthood in the 1950s.
