Il controcanto dell’alterità: le tracce di Platone in Ricoeur
Abstract
Here we investigate the metaphysical Ricoeur, focusing on the theme of the great genres of Ricoeur, those of “oneself” and “the other”, as imported from Plato’s The Sophist. Between the two authors there is a constant yet not fully explored dialogue: spanning from the academic course held in 1953/54 and from the ontological encyclopaedia entries to the masterpiece of 1990, Soi-même comme un autre, and to the retrospective outlook of Réflexion faite of 1995. The Ricoeurian reflection thus finds one of its fundamental roots which remains unchanged despite the various approaches taken in the changing seasons of his thought.
