Abstract

The article is the sum of two parts. First of all the article presents the up to date findings and the interpretations put forward by the scientific field regarding the evolution of human beings and of life. The article then deals with the growth of the complexity of living beings; the modality and the factors regarding the evolution of life, with particular reference to evolutionary developmental biology; hominization and the finalistic principle in nature. In the second part some questions which may have relevance in relation to theology are dealt with, raising a few problems: the emergence of human beings; monogenism, polygenism and original sin; finalism and the Teilhardian perspective.
