Abstract

After the crisis started in 2008, this article explain the ongoing redefinition of the model of development on three sides: the socio-economic theory, the management literature and the practice of new production and consumer patterns. Far from technological determinism, the combination of economic interests and cultural sensibility is driving capitalism changes. Today the possibility of an integral human development model is emerging, with a human, social, economic and environmental resources enhancement. This is
the third way - hinging on the idea of sustainability – between unlimited growth in debt, characteristic of pre-crisis capitalism, and utopias of degrowth.
