Essere cristiani nell’età secolare

Abstract

This article, prepared for the lecture as «Visiting professor» at the Archiepiscopal Seminary of Milan, in Venegono Inferiore (Varese), aims to illustrate the conditions for a true faith in God in the current social and cultural context, defined as «secular age». The description of this horizon, which occupies the first part of the article, moves from a critical reception of the famous analysis carried out by Taylor. Including the fundamental characteristics of the «secular age», the author tries to outline the fundamental coordinates
to live the faith today and recognize the necessary purifications in «saying God» that our age requires us.
