Abstract

The new Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis: “The gift of the priestly vocation” promulgated in 2016 constitutes the normative framework, together with canons 232-264 of the present Code of Canon Law, for the formation process in seminaries. This brief article seeks to evaluate to what extent this framework is adequate in responding to the needs of today’s formation of candidates for the exercising of the apostolic ministry.
