La integración de los recién ordenados en la pastoral diocesana
Abstract
The objective of this work is to identify the challenges in the transition between the time of formation and that of priestly ministry in the Archdiocese of Valencia (Spain). Two surveys have been conducted. The first survey, addressed
to priests ordained in the last ten years, explores aspects of formation, changes to be introduced in the training program, and social challenges. The second survey, directed at the Episcopal Council and Archpriests, focuses on the difficulties faced by young priests at the beginning of their ministry and suggests changes to be implemented in their training. The results highlight that the spiritual dimension is most highly valued, while the areas most in
need of updating are the human dimension, particularly emotional maturity and coping with loneliness, as well as the pastoral dimension, which calls for greater experience and realism. The conclusions point toward proposed
interventions in both initial and ongoing formation.
