La Scuola Cattolica e la Grande Guerra
Abstract
During the First World War, La Scuola Cattolica dealt with the legitimacy and the causes of the conflict (par. I), highlighting the crisis that followed (par. II). The war showed the patriotism of Catholics, especially Italians, and the need to revise the “Roman question” (par. III). The Review offered to the readers news from abroad (par. IV) and gave ample space to the activities of Pope Benedict XV, in particular to his instructions for a lasting peace (par. V). The review of Milan, therefore, constitutes an original point of view on the First World War.
