Giansenismo e gallicanesimo nelle ricerche di Pierre Blet
Abstract
Studies by Pierre Blet (1918-2009) have allowed a better understanding of Jansenism and Gallicanism, especially from the institutional, political, dip- lomatic and social point of view. This article uses these studies, following a historical path that goes from the origins of Jansenism to its spread in France in the early part of the seventeenth century; Gallicanism is then presented in the seventeenth century, and finally outlines the Jansenist movement in France during the eighteenth century. In this way, we can appreciate the value of research by Pierre Blet, hitherto little known in the Italian context.
