Abstract
This study, conducted by two authors, wants to rebuild, through the study of unpublished correspondence conserved in the archives of the Seminary of Milan and of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, the evaluations and decision-making processes that led to the radical reform of the studies carried out in the Faculty of Theology through the overcoming of traditional and surpassed teaching in dialogue with the needs and incitements from the new-born catholic university. The setting that ensued marked the formation of the pre-Vatican II in Milan.
