Misteriosa efficacia “spirituale” della preghiera cristiana per noi e per gli altri

Abstract

Prompted by the pandemic, this theological-biblical investigation focuses on the saving efficacy of the prayer of petition for ourselves and of intercession for others. The Bible reveals that the mysterious power of such prayer is due to the fact that the Spirit, who «intercedes with sighs too deep for words», joins our every sigh to the prayer of the Risen Lord, who also «intercedes for us» with the Father. Hence whenever it is conducive to our salvation, the Father grants our prayers, especially if coming from a community, because he listens to the Spirit, who cries in our hearts louder than we do ourselves and grants our prayers, attuning them to the Father’s will for our salvation.
