La giustificazione di Hans Küng
Una riflessione cattolica
Abstract
Comparing the thought of Barth and the catholic doctrine on justification, Küng registers an overall concordance which matures in the reading of the theology of Barth; a reading which, without betraying the postulate, mitigates and remains silent about essential points of critical relevance. At the same time, Küng sets the catholic doctrine free from the controversialist claim, nonetheless selecting from therein those aspects which are best suited to establishing a common vision. The studies of Bouyer, Bouillard and Balthasar, which are immediately prior to Küng’s theses, set out to engage with the fundamental-theological and philosophical trends of the Barthian “novelty”, without ignoring its historical roots; they thus highlight the approximations which afflict Küng’s research, and pinpoint the fundamental reasons for the confessional objections.
