La responsabilità per la pace di fronte al volto delle vittime

Abstract

A hundred years after the First World War we are involved in what many – including Pope Francis – have called the Third World War. This article intends to analyze the foundations and the modality of a theological discourse on peace able to support the act of conscience and of institutions in this unusual context. Developing this plan moves from the analysis of the situation and from the comparison between the conciliar roots of contemporary theological ethics about peace. The subsequent post-conciliar debate offers, in the relationship between history and the eschatological fulfillment, the theological place where we can set the responsibility for peace.
