Abstract

This study analyzes the phenomenon of prostitution and considers the implication that the monetary element has in the understanding of the relationship and identity of the customer and the girl who is trade’s slave or that chooses to sell her sexuality. The reserach proceeds first of all with a review of prostitution in Italy today, through the data and listening of various witnesses, and then tries to analyze the role of money starting from George Simmel’s philosophical reflection.
