Abstract

Based on the exegesis of Jn 4,1-32, this study offers some pastoral insights as response to a troubling question for the Church today: how to implement a «new evangelization» for people who, like the Samaritan woman, feel no need of Christ, nor of the Church and perhaps even of God? From the biblical survey three suggestions of lifestyle emerge: to dialogue, without «talking»; to welcome the others, without judging them; tell the truth with charity, without any connivance with the injustices of the society. After having
raised in this way an incipient yearning for salvation in our proximes, should help to write the name of «Jesus of Nazareth» to the Savior that they realized the wait.
