Abstract

The article considers G. Hunsinger’s proposal of ecumenical theology that relaunches the category of «Transelementation» as a possible key to interpreting the real Eucharistic presence, opening new ways to heal the divisions that this theme has aroused between the different Christian denominations. Hunsinger’s reflection is taken up by J.M. Arcadi who tries to develop it further, proposing an «Incarnational Model» of reading the Eucharistic presence. Our contribution reconstructs the authors’ paths and evaluates them, concluding that the metaphysical tools with which Arcadi develops Hunsinger’s reflections introduce a few problematic elements. Without these elements, Transelementation could be a way of ecumenical convergence.
