Un metodo per «scrutare i segni dei tempi» in Carlo Maria Martini

Abstract

This study rereads the teaching of Cardinal Martini, with particular attention to the speeches addressed to the civil community on the occasion of the Solemnity of St. Ambrose, in the light of the conciliar reception. The study of C. Theobald gives the key to understanding: the event and the letter of the Council enable the process of reception. In this vitality a central role is played by the category of the “signs of the times”. The analysis of the discourses of St. Ambrose of card. Martini is offered as a concrete place of
reception and interpretation of this conciliar teaching, able to give shape to a method of discernment of the story and to respond to major theoretical points around the teaching of the Council.
