Storia e storiografie dell’Antico Testamento
Abstract
This article investigates the biblical way of doing history, appreciating there-in the richness and highlighting its weaknesses. In the first part the emphasis is on what “making history” in the biblical world view actually means, and how this is not aimed at the precise reconstruction of events but at recogniz-ing the salvific project of God which is revealed within those same events. In the second part the first great historiography, the Deuteronomistic one, borne witness to in the same biblical writings, is taken into consideration, with particular attention given to the developments in exegetical research on the subject; to the approach adopted by the authors regarding the sources; to the level of historicity of the material produced, and to the dominant theological notes.
