Abstract
This article analytically considers the texts for the liturgy of the Solemn Christmas Vigil. Which in the Ambrosian Rite constitutes the first of the holy masses for Christmas. After a presentation of the sources, the actual order is analyzed in its various components: the lucernali rites, which include a hymn attributed to Saint Ambrose, the four Old Testament readings, with psalm verses and prayers, the two New Testament readings and the Liturgy of the Eucharist with the Magnificat as the concluding canticle. Such ritual wealth is entrusted to a discerning celebratory orchestration.
